Nigerian Actor John Okafor ‘Mr. Ibu’ Buried

The final farewell to veteran Nollywood actor, John Okafor, popularly known as Mr. Ibu, took place on June 28, 2024, in his home town in Amuri, Nkanu West Local Government Area of Enugu State.

The five-day burial ceremony, which began on June 25, 2024, featured a series of events, including a high-profile match, a candlelight procession, and live entertainment.

On the third day, a Christian Wake-Keep was held at the actor’s compound, where friends, family, and colleagues gathered to pay their respects.

The burial itself took place on the fourth day, with mourners dressed in black and white, bidding farewell to the beloved actor.

The ceremony was attended by notable figures in the Nigerian entertainment industry, who came to show their last respects to the comedian.

Mr. Ibu, known for his hilarious roles in numerous Nollywood films, passed away on March 2, 2024, at the age of 62, after a long battle with illness.

His burial marks the end of an era in the Nigerian film industry, and his legacy will be deeply missed by fans and colleagues alike.
