Diaspora Action for Democracy in Africa—DADA delegation has engaged in discussions with Nigerians at home and abroad to promote democracy and the rule of law in Nigeria.

The group during an international press conference raised concerns about two major issues: the 2023 Nigeria Presidential Election and the ECOWAS threat to deploy military forces to overturn the military coup in Niger Republic.

DADA called for caution as any judicial verdict that fails to address Nigerians’ cry for justice might escalate into violence.

Also, the delegation advocated for diplomatic dialogue to resolve Niger’s political crisis, instead of the deployment of the ECOWAS Standby Force, which could lead to military conflict and catastrophic consequences.

The group while highlighting Nigeria’s importance to the African continent as the largest African country and the largest black nation, noted that stability and democracy in Nigeria is central to the emancipation of the African and black race.
