Udenu Executive Council Mayor, Hon. Solomon Onah, has extended his heartfelt felicitations to Enugu State Governor, Barr. Peter Mbah, and his deputy, Barr. Ifeanyi Ossai, on the occasion of their fruitful completion of 100 days in office. The mayor commended the duo for their outstanding achievements and commitment towards the development of the state so far.
One of the notable achievements of Governor Peter Mbah during his first 100 days in office is the resuscitation of water boreholes across Enugu metropols. Recognizing the importance of accessible and clean water supply, the governor embarked on a comprehensive overhaul, reconstruction, rehabilitation and maintenance program for new and existing boreholes. This initiative has greatly improved access to safe drinking water for the residents of Enugu, and he is extending to those in rural communities. This was a promise his made during the campaigns, to give Enugu water within his first 180 days in office.
In addition to water supply, Governor Mbah has also prioritized the issue of security in Enugu State. Through strategic partnerships with relevant security agencies and community involvement, he has successfully revitalized the state’s security apparatus. It was not a walk in the park, but instances of rampant criminal activities have significantly reduced, bringing about a sense of safety and peace among the residents. The merchants of insecurity has resorted to guerilla warfare, attacking soft targets, and the governor has devised a more rejigged approach to dislodge them.
Furthermore, the governor has initiated several projects aimed at boosting the economy and infrastructure of Enugu State. This includes the establishment of industrial zones to attract local and foreign investments, as well as the rehabilitation and construction of roads to enhance transportation and connectivity within the state.
Governor Mbah’s administration has demonstrated a strong commitment to education by prioritizing developing blueprints on renovation and equipping of schools in Enugu. This aims to create a conducive learning environment for students, thereby improving the overall quality of education in the state.
Mayor Solomon Onah expressed optimism that the governor will exceed the expectation of Ndi Enugu. In a press statement released to news men at Obollo Afor, the headquarters of the local government, the Council Chair acknowledged the candid efforts of the governor in gifting Enugu State a purposeful leadership in line with his campaign promises. He expressed hope of better days ahead: “we in Udenu celebrate the positive impacts your administration has brought so far, and look forward to witnessing the positive changes your will bring in the days ahead.”
