VIDEO: My parents introduced me to books early, so I ended up loving & writing books — Ugorji

The Imo State Commissioner for Home Land Security and Vigilante Affairs, Prince (Dr) Ugorji Okechukwu Ugorji, has revealed why he reads and writes books a lot.

Dr. Ugorji made the revelation during the launching of two new books, “Securing the Homeland” and “Ilu: African Proverbs in Igbo, With English Translations” in Owerri on Tuesday, September 26, 2023.

Speaking to News Band on the sidelines of the event, Ugorji said that his parents introduced him to books early in life, hence he ended up loving and writing a lot of books.

He said in parts:

Ugorji, therefore, urged everyone, especially the young ones, to develop the habit of reading so as to enable them to discover all the details life has to offer.

During the event, Dr. Ugorji also seized the opportunity to showcase his other older books including “She Is Eternal And Other Poems“, “From The Belly of The Gods“, “The Adventures Of Torti — Tales From West Africa“, “I Just Saw The Sky Fall” and “Sunrise Daughters — A Global Portrait Of Igbo Women“.
