UAE lifts travel ban on Nigerians

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has lifted its visa ban on Nigerian citizens, effective immediately.
This decision comes after an agreement was reached between the governments of Nigeria and the UAE, allowing Nigerian passport holders to travel to the UAE without restrictions.
The announcement was made by the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
The agreement marks a significant milestone in the diplomatic relations between the two countries, following a previous visa restriction imposed by the UAE in October 2022.
The restriction had prevented Nigerian citizens from accessing UAE visas, and Emirates Airlines had also suspended its flight operations to Nigeria in November 2022.
The lifting of the travel ban is expected to boost economic and cultural exchanges between Nigeria and the UAE, and Nigerian citizens can now take advantage of the opportunities offered by the UAE’s business, tourism, and education sectors.
