AFCON: Nigeria to clash with Cameroon Saturday

The Super Eagles of Nigeria will on Saturday clash with Cameroon in the Round of 16 at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Cote d’Ivoire.

The three-time champions who finished second in Group A with 7 points will face Cameroon who also finished second in Group C with four points after defeating Gambia 3-2 in a pulsating game on Tuesday.

Guinea who needed a draw in their game against defending champions, Senegal, lost by 2-0 to drop to 3rd with 4points.

The Super Eagles reached the Round of 16 after defeating Guinea Bissau by a alone goal on Monday.

The last time both the Super Eagles and the Indomitable Lions met at the same stage in 2019 AFCON in Egypt, Super Eagles won 2-1.

The titanic clash between Nigeria and Cameron is slated for the Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium, Abidjan on Saturday by 8 pm (local time).
