Troops of the Operation Hadin Kai in Maiduguri, Borno State, have arrested a soldier identified as Lance Corporal M Yakub for allegedly stealing ammunition.
The arrest was disclosed by Zagazola Makama, a security expert.
Mr Makama quoting a security source, said that the soldier was apprehended by the 7 Division Military Police K9 Team on routine search Operation at the Borno express Terminal in Maiduguri on Thursday, 9th of May 2024.
The soldier was taken into custody for being in possession of 756 quantity of Rnds of 7.62 mm special ammunition and 4 x 36 Hand Grenade concealed inside a small bag of rice.
Makama, who shared the information on his official X handle with pictures of the soldier with recovered ammunition, said the corporal is currently in custody of the military for further action.
