Former England coach Mr Sven-Goran Eriksson has died aged 76 after a battle with pancreatic cancer.
Eriksson, who coached eight different countries, led England for 67 matches between 2001 and 2006.
The Swede revealed his cancer diagnosis in January, outlining that he had at ‘best’ a year to live.
He also managed Manchester City, Leicester City, Roma and Lazio among many other clubs across his career.
He lifted the league-and-cup double with Lazio in the 1999/2000 season, also winning the European Cup Winners’ Cup.
Meanwhile, a statement on Eriksson’s website reads, “After a long illness, Sven-Goran Eriksson died during the morning at home surrounded by family.
“The closest mourners are daughter Lina; son Johan with wife Amana and granddaughter Sky; father Sven; girlfriend Yanisette with son Alcides; brother Lars-Erik with wife Jumnong. The family asks for respect for their wish to mourn in private and not be contacted.”
