Kano State police command has confirmed the death of five operatives involved in a fatal road crash that occurred on Tuesday along Zaria-Kano road.
The spokesman of the command, SP Abdullahi Haruna said the unfortunate accident took place in Karfi village, located in Kura Local Government Area, when they were returning to Kano from an official assignment.
During a telephone interview with PUNCH Online, Haruna explained that the vehicle carrying the officers collided head-on with a trailer, resulting in the devastating loss of life.
“Five officers died on the spot, and 11 others sustained injuries,” Haruna sais.
Also, the injured officers were quickly rushed to Murtala Mohammad Specialist Hospital in Kano, where they are receiving medical treatment for varying degrees of injuries.
The Command is yet to provide additional details regarding the cause of the accident.
