Anambra born business mogul and politician, Chief Valentine Ozigbo, has commended the leadership and members of all the Obedient Support Groups in the state for endorsing his candidacy ahead of 2025 governorship election.
Ozigbo in his thank you message which a copy was obtained by NewsBand Newspaper, stressed that their action and reasons for his endorsement are a reflection of the heartbreaking condition of Anambra State.
While chiding governor Chukwuma Soludo for failing to deliver good governance, Ozigbo said that the social contract with Anambra people has been broken, neglected and abandoned which has however, eroded hope, trust and confidence amongst the people.
He said, “On 21st August, 2024, the leadership and members of all the Obedient Support Groups in Anambra State, endorsed and threw their weight behind me for the 2025 Anambra
Gubernatorial election.
“Their action and reasons are a reflection of the heartbreaking state of our dear State, Anambra.
“Our problems and challenges are getting more complex, grevious and multifaceted. A slide into day light terrorism, social oppression, retrogressive policies, constitutional abuse, executive recklessness and infrastructural neglect has cast serious doubts that question the integrity and competence of the Soludo led government.
“The social contract with ndi Anambra is broken, neglected and abandoned, eroding hope, trust and confidence in the ability of the administraƟon to pilot the affairs of the State.
Ndi Anambra in their disappointment, and helplessness are yearning for change as it is becoming increasingly obvious that the promise of African-Dubai-Taiwan is nothing but a total deceit.
“I am therefore most humbled that the leaders and members of 46 diverse Obidient Support
Groups, including the influential Big 6 – Peter Obi Support Network, Women for Peter Obi, Take Back Naija, Nigeria Needs Peter Obi, Up North Ambassadors for Peter Obi, and CoaliƟon For Peter Obi are rallying behind me in this quest to liberate Anambra from the claws of mediocrity enthroned by authoritarian, clueless and incompetent leadership. I will never take your support
for granted.
“On my part, I promise to bring my competence and wealth of experience which span across diverse sectors of the economy including Finance, Energy, Oil & Gas, Agriculture, Hospitality and Tourism to bear in delivering the Anambra of our dream to the people.
“The quest for a better Anambra is at the front burner and the search for a new Chief Executive to pilot the affairs of the is an abject necessity.
“Thank you for your Support. When campaign season approaches, I will share my thoughts on how we will recover and redeem our State. I will be ready to listen to yours, so that, working together, the job will be done.
“My special gratitude to God Almighty for this privilege. He has been there all through and I am confident He will be with us all the end.
