Terror bandits have attacked Garbatau, a farming community in Bali Local Government Area of Taraba State.
The criminal elements during the attack, killed a prominent farmer, Alhaji Mai Wanda Maibultu, and abducted six others over the weekend.
Maibultu, a large-scale farmer, was attacked on his farm, while the other victims were abducted from the village, located in a mountainous area near Garba Chede town.
NewsBand gathered that the terror ring have demanded a ransom of ₦100 million for the release of the abducted farmers.
Adamu Dauda, a resident of nearby Maihula town, disclosed that this is not the first time such incident is happening in the area.
He narrated a similar attack last year when hundreds of bandits invaded the community, kidnapping several farmers and disrupting their farming activities.
“This time, the farmers were in the process of harvesting their crops, but the kidnappers have disrupted it again,” Dauda lamented, expressing frustration over the recurring attacks.
Police authorities in the state are yet to issue a statement in respect to the development.
