The Kogi State government has announced the capture of four individuals suspected of kidnapping, following a collaborative operation between the police and a private security agency.

The operation occurred on Tuesday, resulting in the successful rescue of victims within 24 hours after their abduction.

The suspects consistently terrorized Ajaokuta and Kogi East, committing crimes such as robbery and sexual assault against the community.

To address this growing threat, the state government hired Base SAN Security Nigeria Ltd to collaborate with police in fighting crime.

The State Commissioner for Information and Communications spoke to reporters, confirming that the apprehended kidnappers are cooperating with law enforcement.

He also stated that the rescued victims would soon be reunited with their families after appropriate procedures are followed.

He highlighted the positive results of the collaboration between the Ododo Administration and licensed security firms in addressing local crime.

Base SAN Security Nigeria Ltd was instrumental in this operation. Acting on reliable intelligence, they confronted the kidnappers, who were reportedly four in number.

This decisive action led to their arrest and the freeing of ten victims from captivity.

Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo reaffirmed his dedication to making Kogi a safe haven for all residents.

He remarked, “We are too central to Nigeria to fail this country,” emphasizing his administration’s commitment to utilizing every resource to eradicate criminal activities in the state.

The successful operation in Ajaokuta sends a clear message to criminals operating in Kogi.

The current government is resolute in its mission to ensure safety for everyone.

The suspects are now in police custody, where they will face further investigations and legal proceedings.
