*Ordered fresh election within 90 days
The Anambra State Appeal Tribunal Court has nullified the election of Iyom Uche Ekwunife of the Peoples Democratic Party [PDP].
She is the Senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial District.
She defeated his All Progressives Grand Alliance [APGA] counterpart, Chief Victor Umeh to clinch the ticket.
A lead judgement read by Justice Datijo Yahaya stated that the election of Mrs Ekwunife on April 11, 2015, did not meet the prescription of the electoral act, hence the nullification.
The Court, thereby, ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission [INEC] to conduct a fresh election within 90 days of the judgement.
