Morka, APC denies threatening Peter Obi

The National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Felix Morka, has denied threatening the life of Labour Party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, his family, or associates. Former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar condemned the attack on Obi, calling it a disturbing move to stifle opposition.

Obi alleged on X that Morka accused him of “crossing the line” and warned of consequences.

Morka declared in a statement that he will ensure accountability for Obi and other opposition figures’ actions.

He emphasized the opposition’s responsibility to hold the APC-led administration accountable whenever it threatens truth and public trust.

Furthermore, he insisted that Obi’s allegation was a malicious lie and attention-seeking emotional blackmail.

Additionally, Morka emphasized that while everyone has a right to free speech, no one has the right to peddle misinformation or falsehood.

Moreover, Morka stressed that the right to free speech is available to all Nigerians, including himself.

Furthermore, he insisted that Obi’s allegation constituted a malicious lie and a form of attention-seeking emotional blackmail.

Additionally, Morka emphasized that while everyone enjoys free speech, spreading misinformation or falsehoods remains unacceptable.

Furthermore, Morka maintained that freedom of speech is available to all Nigerians, himself included.

He argued that Obi cannot disseminate misinformation and expect no one to challenge his narrative.

Morka highlighted that Nigeria’s democracy allows every citizen to agree or disagree with political views or opinions.

He accused Obi of leading online mobs that attack, intimidate, and issue death threats to those who disagree with him.

Morka reproached Obi for believing he stands above criticism and possesses the authority to insult and incite Nigerians against opponents.

He asserted that Obi is not entitled to any exclusive constitutional liberty above other citizens.

Morka claimed that Obi has crossed the line of truth in his assessments and peddled false narratives, mobilizing outrage and stoking tension against the government.

On his part, Atiku said the comments by the APC spokesman were an attempt to stifle opposition voices in Nigeria.

He emphasized that inflammatory remarks targeting Obi and the extended detention of dissenting voices like Mahdi Shehu signal authoritarian governance.

This shift threatens to suffocate opposition rights and stifle free expression in the political landscape.
