Nasarawa Police crack down on 22 illegal foreign Nationals

Nasarawa, Nigeria – April 12, 2025 – In a bold effort to combat illegal immigration, the Nasarawa State Police arrested 22 undocumented foreign nationals.

Acting on a credible tip, officers raided a three-bedroom flat in New Karu on April 10.

Consequently, the suspects were arrested without resistance during the noon operation.

Authorities targeted the Ibro Block residence after receiving intelligence about unlawful occupants. Notably, the suspects lacked valid travel or residency papers. Moreover, the group comprised 14 men and 8 women from Mali, Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, and Senegal. Among them were Amidu Dau (23), Youssouf Diarra (28), and Fatoumaya Ouedraga (20).

Furthermore, police confirmed the detainees’ ages ranged from 20 to 45 years. For instance, Amadou Ba (27) and Samba Gadyaga (20) were also apprehended. Additionally, Aicha Toure (20) and others from Burkina Faso faced similar arrests. Meanwhile, investigators discovered no legal documentation for their stay in Nigeria.

Subsequently, the police pledged to collaborate with immigration officials for further action. This operation highlights Nigeria’s intensified crackdown on illegal immigration. Likewise, authorities urged citizens to report suspicious activities promptly. As a result, community cooperation remains vital in enforcing immigration laws.
