ACG Orbih urges Officers to maintain discipline, compliance during visit

Lagos, Nigeria – Assistant Comptroller General (ACG) Charles Orbih, overseeing Zone ‘A,’ has urged Lagos Free Zone Command officers to uphold discipline and national integrity.

During his official visit on April 29, 2025, he emphasized their crucial role in revenue generation, trade facilitation, and security.

Furthermore, he warned against complacency, insisting that vigilance ensures success.

“We must remain alert to threats against revenue and trade goals,” Orbih declared.

“Above all, national security is non-negotiable—illegal drugs, arms, and ammunition must not enter Nigeria.”

He praised the command’s potential, urging officers to drive its progress.

Additionally, he toured the zone, commending its economic contributions and development scale.

Orbih also advised businesses to comply with regulations, stressing that lawful operations build investor confidence.

“Stakeholders must follow the law to avoid scrutiny,” he asserted.

By doing so, they attract more investment, boosting Nigeria’s economy.

Meanwhile, Comptroller Olanrewaju Olumoh, the command’s leader, reaffirmed their commitment to efficiency and collaboration.

Olumoh highlighted stakeholder engagement as key to resolving challenges swiftly.

“We prioritize operational excellence and inter-agency cooperation,” he stated.

Moreover, he reported impressive revenue collection—₦174 billion—and faster cargo clearance, now completed within a day.

He credited these achievements to dedicated officers and streamlined processes.

The CAC also reinforced their focus on national security, vowing to work with sister agencies to protect borders.

Orbih’s visit highlights the Nigeria Customs Service’s dedication to discipline, efficiency, and compliance.

Ultimately, these efforts aim to create a secure, business-friendly environment for all stakeholders.
