Israeli Airstrike on Gaza School kills over 80

A devastating Israeli airstrike on a Gaza City school has left at least 80 people dead, with many more injured, in a tragedy that has sparked widespread condemnation and calls for an immediate ceasefire.

The strike, which occurred early Saturday morning, targeted the Tabeen school, which was being used as a shelter for displaced Palestinians.

The Israeli military claimed that the school was being used as a Hamas command center, a claim denied by the militant group.

Eyewitnesses described the scene as “apocalyptic,” with walls blown out, concrete chunks and twisted metal scattered everywhere, and body parts strewn across the blood-soaked floor.

The strike occurred without warning, catching people praying, sleeping, and seeking refuge in the school.

The attack has been widely condemned, with Egypt and Jordan leading the charge.

Egypt, which has been mediating a ceasefire agreement, accused Israel of showing no intention of reaching a peaceful resolution.

The United Nations has also expressed its outrage, with Secretary-General António Guterres calling for an immediate investigation into the attack.

The strike is the latest in a series of devastating attacks on schools in Gaza, with over 477 schools damaged or destroyed since the conflict began.

The attack has also raised concerns about the disproportionate use of force by Israel and the targeting of civilian infrastructure.

As the international community calls for an immediate ceasefire, the situation in Gaza continues to deteriorate.

Over 39,600 Palestinians have been killed, and more than 91,700 others have been wounded.

The war has displaced over 1.9 million people, with many forced to flee their homes repeatedly to escape the violence.
