Mohammed Idris showcases Government achievements in latest press briefing

The National Press Centre in Abuja buzzed with activity as Information Minister Mohammed Idris opened the eighth ministerial briefing of 2025.

Flanked by cabinet colleagues, Idris welcomed Arts Minister Hannatu Musawa, Water Resources Minister Joseph Utsev, and Works Minister David Umahi before a live national audience. The gathering demonstrated President Tinubu’s commitment to keeping citizens informed through transparent governance.

Recent economic data brought encouraging news as Idris revealed April’s inflation rate had dropped to 23.71% from March’s 24.23%. Food inflation similarly declined to 21.26%, offering relief to struggling households. “Our reforms are yielding measurable results,” Idris affirmed, noting improved figures in transportation and service sectors. The minister particularly highlighted infrastructure projects, water access improvements, and plans to leverage Nigeria’s creative economy.

Turning to journalists, Idris praised their role in communicating government policies but urged responsible reporting. “Accurate coverage helps citizens appreciate our progress,” he noted, appealing for media partnership in showcasing national development. The event culminated with Works Minister Umahi detailing ongoing road construction projects, offering concrete examples of infrastructure transformation. As the briefing concluded, attendees left with clearer understanding of how various ministries contribute to national progress.
