Governor Ikpeazu’s mother, Betsy, dies at 87

The Abia State Governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu, is bereaved. 

 

His 87 years old mother, Deaconess Betsy Ikpeazu died in the early morning hours of last week Sunday at the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital (UNTH) Ituku-Ozara, in Enugu state. 

 

Late Mrs Ikpeazu, a registered nurse, lived with an  artificial valve in her heart for twenty years, returned to Nigeria from the US in May ahead of her son’s swearing-in as the 4th democratically elected Governor o Abia State.

 

Our prayers and thoughts are with the Governor and his family. May God grant them the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss. 

May God grant the soul of Mama Betsy Ikpeazu eternal rest…Amen.
