Court of Appeal upholds election of Senator Godswill Akpabio

The Court of Appeal in Abuja has upheld the election of Sen. Godswill Akpabio.

Chief Inibehe Okori, I commend your courageous battle for justice. There is nothing to shed tears for.

It is true that the decision of the court of law has not met your expectations and that of other Nigerians, I implore you to continue to stand up for your convictions.

As a Nigerian, the judgment has set a precedent that will embolden politicians in the country to treat our electoral process with reckless abandon. It sends a clear message that we still have a long way to go in our electoral reformation process.

As a lawyer; I respect the pronouncement of the Court of Appeal. Their Lordships have delivered their judgment. There is nothing that anyone can do about it. No matter how painful it may be.

There are still two other judgments; the judgment of God and the judgment of posterity.

In the end, God will be the ultimate judge. When God delivers His judgment, all eyes will see that indeed all power belong to God.

Inibehe Effiong
