Addressing Pharmaceutical Association of Nigeria Students (PANS) led by the National President that came to cheer FC Ifeanyi Ubah after the match at his country home in Nnewi, the Anambra born thinker called on the students to impress him with research and new discoveries.
Said the man many refer to as a genius:
“Impress me with research and new discoveries. I am more interested in you coming up with research that can change the face of mankind than mere social activities,” he said.
Ubah went on to inform the students that “one of the most essential things here are ideas and that ideas drive the world.
“I will be very pleased if you can come up with discoveries that can change the face of mankind”.
“You are not reading pharmacy to end up as a trader; you must be aware that the world is waiting for you to come up with solutions especially when you consider that Africa is faced with a lot of health challenges.
Let Africa’s health challenge you pharmacy students to come up with answers to our health question” Ubah said.
Ubah insist that the students be aware of the expectations of them.
“If you are yet to consider this, please wake up now and see that the world is watching and waiting.
The black race all over the world are waiting for Nigeria to lead the rest of the black race into new thinking that will shock the world. ”
Responding, the National President of the Pharmacy Students of Nigeria; Mr Chika Emeghiebo who is also a student of Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, told Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah that they are so impressed with the challenge he threw to them.
He stated that they were actually here to see how they can partner with him in hosting National Convention of the PANS in August this year which will take place in Anambra state. According to him,
“The truth is that you have challenged us beyond the issue of hosting 2016 PANS National Convention which was the main reason why we are here, but we are taking this challenge.
You have injected passion for us to advance research and discoveries.
By God’s grace, we shall go back to our drawing board and come up with new ideas.
Ubah later informed the students that it has become imperative for exchange of ideas across board.
“I wish also to inform you that I am going to embark on lecture series which will target sharing ideas with youths especially undergraduates of our Higher institutions in order to unlock the hidden potentials for the betterment of our society,” he concluded.
