The Senator representing Kaduna Central Senatorial zone, Shehu Sani has called for cancellation of elections in Kaduna State over perceived irregularities.
Senator Shehu Sani, who is the candidate of the People’s Redemption Party (PRP) in the Senatorial election, asked for cancellation especially in his Kaduna Central zone.
Addressing newsmen in Kaduna on Tuesday, Senator Sani said, the Saturday election was marred with over-voting, ballot stuffing and intimidation of voters.
He also lamented alleged connivance with security agencies to rig in favour of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Sani said that he and his party have compiled those irregularities across the zone and written to INEC, asking for the cancellation of the elections.
Earlier on his Facebook page, he wrote:
“We have full evidence of massive rigging in four local Governments in Kaduna central senatorial zone.
“The PRP has formally lodged complaints with the INEC and we have just received response.”
He said though, they have not gotten official results of the election, they are calling for the cancellation irrespective of the outcome.
