Anambra 2017: APGA chieftain blasts Ngige, Okorocha over Obiano

A chieftain of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) and member of its Board of Trustees (BoT), Chief Rommy Ezeonwuka has written off the comments of Imo state Gov Rochas Okorocha and Minister of Labour and Productivity Dr Chris Ngige.

Both Okorocha and Ngige, who are chieftains of All Progressive Congress (APC), declared that the ruling party would oust Governor Willie Obiano in 2017 governorship election.

Ezeonwuka described the submissions of both politicians as a mere wishful thinking that would never see the light of the day.

He noted that nothing was wrong with the flyovers built by Obiano in Awka capital territory.

He, therefore, asked them to focus on attracting favor to Ndigbo and how to fix Igbo youth with employments in Abuja and to stop making “media noise” against Gov Obiano’s administration that has been doing wonderfully well.

The APC Chiefs had recently in separate media outings declared that the APC will take over the Anambra top job next year and the only savior for Obiano was for him to cross over to APC.

Ngige also condemned the flyovers built by Obiano, saying the APC government would demolish it on assumption of office.

Ngige said: “That flyover he built in Awka is an obstruction on the federal highway and we will demolish it when we come because it was not built with good specifications.

“Modern flyovers have pillars going by engineering construction.

“What they have done was to cause obstruction at Aroma junction, Kwata junction and Amawbia by-pass.

“So, we know what to do.

“Apart from the flyover, there’s no other projects he can point at, except singing and dancing at functions and displaying sponsored awards.”

Ezeonwuka accused Ngige of “speaking in ignorance because anybody who is familiar and conversant with what is going in Anambra state will tell you that Gov Obiano is working hard.”

He noted that “it is quite unfortunate that Ngige who we respect so much for his penchant in road construction when he was governor is ignorant of what is going on in his state.

“Ngige doesn’t know the current situation because they have not updated him on current projects going in the state.

“They did not tell him about the N20 million projects going on in each of the 179 communities in the state.

“They did not tell him about the stimulus package provided by Obiano to cushion the effect of recession on all poor people in the state.

“They did not tell him that unlike most of the APC state governors including Okorocha that owe workers arrears of salary Anambra workers receive their salaries every month.

“They also did not tell him about the massive development and progress in the agriculture sector from which the state now earn foreign exchange from sale of vegetables and rice exports.

“They did not tell him that Anambra Gross Domestic Products [GDP] have increased in recent time.

“And what about the tight security in the state?

“I mean Ngige should dare to update himself with what is going on in the state and avoid making empty noise.

And for Okorocha, Ezeonwuka accused him of “littering Owerri and parts of Imo state with uncompleted and abandoned white elephants, who regularly go cap in hand to Abuja for bailout funds.

“He needs no response because it’s just shame and pride that is prevented him from coming to take Obiano’s economic/managerial blueprint.”

To Ezeonwuka, the phrase “Willie is working”, was not a slogan but a statement of fact that those who cares would come for sightseeing.
