(DDM) – The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has launched a fierce critique against the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led government of President Bola Tinubu, accusing it of plunging Nigerians into hardship, insecurity, and despair.

Prominent PDP voices, including Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed, PDP Acting National Chairman Umar Damagum, and Bayelsa State Governor Douye Diri, have expressed deep dissatisfaction with the Tinubu administration’s policies and leadership.

Governor Bala Mohammed described the APC government as a “calamity” that has worsened inflation, unemployment, and fuel prices, which have collectively crippled Nigerian households.

Mohammed accused the administration of neglecting the needs of the common people while pursuing policies that primarily benefit a privileged few.

Similarly, PDP Acting National Chairman Umar Damagum condemned the government’s economic reforms, especially the removal of fuel subsidies, saying these actions have heightened poverty and worsened living conditions for many Nigerians.

He called for a return to people-focused governance, urging the APC to urgently address the rising cost of living and widespread economic difficulties.

Bayelsa State Governor Douye Diri criticized the APC leadership for insensitivity towards ordinary Nigerians, highlighting the worsening security challenges and stagnant economy under Tinubu.

Diri argued that the government’s failure to deliver on promises has severely eroded public trust and deepened discontent across the country.

The PDP collectively demanded urgent corrective measures to reverse what they termed a “downward spiral” experienced under Tinubu’s leadership, accusing the APC of betraying the electoral mandate given in 2023.

This broad condemnation from the opposition comes amid escalating public frustration over worsening economic conditions, leading to protests in various regions of Nigeria.

The PDP pledged to hold the government accountable and called on Nigerians to back its vision for a more inclusive, stable, and prosperous nation.

While the Tinubu administration has yet to respond to these fresh allegations, the political divide is intensifying as elections approach, with the PDP positioning itself as a champion for the people’s welfare against what it calls the APC’s “failed leadership.”

The opposition’s remarks underscore the critical challenges confronting the Nigerian government, including economic hardship, fuel price hikes, unemployment, insecurity, and widespread poverty, issues that continue to dominate public discourse and shape the country’s political landscape.
