Governor Ademola Adeleke resigns from PDP

Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) due to the party’s ongoing national leadership crisis.

In a statement on his official Instagram page, Adeleke revealed he submitted his resignation letter to PDP officials in Sagba Abogunde, Ward 2, Ede North Local Government Area, on November 4, 2025.

Adeleke cited the PDP’s persistent national leadership crisis as the reason for his decision to leave the party.

He thanked the party and its members for the opportunities provided to him, including his elections as Senator and Governor of Osun State.

The resignation marks a significant setback for the PDP, which has been facing internal disputes and losing key political figures.

Adeleke’s next move is uncertain, with speculation about potential party affiliations or independent candidacy.

This development comes ahead of the 2026 governorship election in Osun State, where Adeleke is widely expected to seek re-election.
