(DDM) – Hon. Kenneth C. Gbandi has successfully registered on the African Democratic Congress (ADC) digital portal and is urging all Nigerians, at home and in the diaspora, to do the same.
Gbandi’s registration is part of a strategic push by the ADC to mobilize voters ahead of the 2027 general elections, ensuring citizens are prepared against potential digital disenfranchisement by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The party’s online registration platform https://adcregistration.ng allows voters to enroll conveniently, offering an alternative to physical centers that have historically faced logistical delays, long queues, and allegations of irregularities. Gbandi emphasized that early registration is critical, describing it as a necessary step to safeguard democratic participation.
“Preparedness now is the only way to protect the integrity of our votes,” Gbandi said, highlighting the urgency for Nigerians to register and verify their information through the party’s portal.
Political experts note that digital voter engagement has grown in importance after past elections where registration delays and system failures affected turnout. The ADC’s portal aims to increase accessibility, especially for youth and diaspora communities who may struggle to access traditional registration points.
Gbandi’s advocacy aligns with a broader global trend of leveraging technology to enhance election transparency and accountability. The ADC plans to accompany the registration drive with public education campaigns, webinars, and social media outreach, particularly targeting overseas voters to ensure they are not left behind.
Observers warn that early mobilization through digital platforms can help counter attempts to manipulate or exclude voters and strengthen citizen participation. By leading through example, Gbandi is positioning the ADC to consolidate its base and reinforce democratic engagement in Nigeria.
Political analysts suggest that such initiatives could have far-reaching effects on voter turnout in 2027 and the broader political balance, highlighting digital registration as a critical tool in the country’s evolving electoral landscape.
