Nentawe Yilwatda, the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), says Bola Tinubu has done enough to earn a second term in office, pointing to what he described as steady economic progress under the current administration.

Speaking in Plateau State during a youth empowerment programme he sponsored, Yilwatda said the president’s policies are beginning to create opportunities, especially for young Nigerians.

According to him, reforms such as tax adjustments are aimed at easing the burden on low-income earners, including civil servants, while opening up more economic space for ordinary citizens.

Yilwatda also revealed plans to support beneficiaries of the programme with further training.

He said the managing director of the Nigeria Export Promotion Council would organise a six-month workshop for participants whose products have export potential.

“If your products meet export standards, I will personally support and finance you,” he told the beneficiaries, urging them to take advantage of the opportunity to grow their businesses and reach international markets.

The APC chairman used the occasion to rally support for Tinubu’s re-election bid.

“I’m a politician, and as I support you, I expect you to support my boss,” he said, calling on the youths to back the president in 2027.

He also highlighted plans to upgrade the Yakubu Gowon Airport in Plateau State to international status, noting that expanding the runway would allow for larger aircraft and boost economic activity in the region.

Yilwatda encouraged young people to embrace entrepreneurship, stressing that Plateau has strong potential beyond civil service jobs, particularly in agriculture and trade.

Earlier, project consultant Ezekiel Gomos said 2,127 beneficiaries were selected through a transparent process based on submitted business plans. He explained that the goal of the grant was not just to distribute funds, but to support viable businesses capable of creating jobs and improving livelihoods.
