…calls for mass mobilization
Mr. Peter Obi, former Labour Party presidential candidate, has formally registered as a member of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Anambra State, pledging to challenge Nigeria’s newly passed 2026 Electoral Act in court amid growing political realignments ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Obi completed his registration in his hometown of Agulu, in Anaocha Local Government Area during the launch of the party’s statewide membership mobilisation and revalidation exercise
Comrade Patrick Obianyo, the state chairman of Anambra ADC, in a statement said that Obi’s decision to join the party marks a pivotal moment in the state’s political history.
According to him, itt reinforces ADC position as the primary vehicle for transformative leadership and the only viable alternative to the status quo.
The statement reads: “In light of this milestone, the State Chairman, Comrade Patrick Obianyo, urges all citizens of Anambra who are yearning for accountability, transparency, and progress to seize this moment.
“The arrival of Peter Obi is a signal that the rescue mission for our Nation has begun. We invite every progress-minded individual to join the ADC family immediately”.
He added: “To accommodate the surge of interest, the party has opened registration portals both at the ward levels and online. However, please be advised:
“The current registration exercise will officially close in a few days. How to Join: Visit your local ward office in person or register via our official online portal to secure your membership.
“The ADC remains the only credible and viable opposition to the ruling APC, committed to delivering the dividends of democracy that have long been elusive. Now is the time to stand on the right side of history.”
