Meta Platforms has launched a new incentive programme aimed at attracting content creators from rival platforms such as TikTok and YouTube to Facebook.
Under the initiative, known as “Content Fast Track,” eligible creators can earn up to $3,000 (approximately ₦4.2 million) per month by posting short-form videos on Facebook.
The programme targets creators with large followings on competing platforms, as Meta intensifies efforts to regain market share in the highly competitive short-form video space.
To qualify for the maximum payout, creators must have at least one million followers on other platforms and publish a minimum of 15 short videos, or reels, monthly—equating to about $200 per video. Smaller creators may earn up to $1,000 per month.
Meta said the initiative, currently limited to the United States and Canada, will run for up to three months and is designed to encourage creators to either join or return to Facebook.
The move comes amid growing competition in the creator economy, with TikTok and YouTube continuing to dominate user engagement and content monetisation.
However, industry experts have expressed doubts about the programme’s long-term impact. , who manages popular content group Sidemen, described the initiative as potentially insufficient to lure top creators, noting that many already earn significantly more through brand deals and existing platform revenues.
Meta disclosed that it paid nearly $3 billion to creators in 2025, underscoring its increasing investment in digital content as it seeks to strengthen Facebook’s position in the global social media landscape.
