(DDM) — The Miyetti Allah group has condemned the recent killings in Plateau State, describing the attack in Jos as tragic and unacceptable, while calling for urgent intervention by security agencies.

The group expressed concern over the recurring violence in parts of the state, urging authorities to take decisive steps to protect lives and prevent further escalation of tensions.

It also appealed to political, community, and religious leaders to avoid inflammatory statements that could worsen existing divisions or trigger further unrest.

According to the statement, sustained peace in Plateau State requires cooperation among all stakeholders, including security forces, community leaders, and residents.

The organisation stressed that addressing insecurity requires not only military response but also dialogue and conflict resolution mechanisms to tackle the root causes of violence.

Security agencies have been urged to intensify investigations into the latest attacks and ensure that those responsible are brought to justice without delay.

Observers note that Plateau State has experienced recurring incidents of violence over the years, often linked to communal tensions and disputes over resources.

They warn that continued cycles of retaliation could further destabilise affected communities if not urgently addressed through coordinated peace-building efforts.

Community leaders in the region have also been encouraged to promote calm and discourage acts of reprisal that could deepen the crisis.

The latest condemnation adds to growing national concern over insecurity in parts of Nigeria’s Middle Belt region, where several communities have been affected by repeated attacks.

Authorities are expected to increase security presence in vulnerable areas while ongoing investigations continue into the latest killings.
