Iran War: Tinubu Pledges Solidarity with Gulf Allies

Nigeria’s support for Gulf nations affected by the ongoing U.S.–Israel conflict with Iran, stressing the country’s commitment to peace and global stability.

Speaking at the State House in Abuja while receiving letters of credence from newly appointed diplomats, Tinubu expressed solidarity with countries including Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, and Jordan.

He praised their resilience amid recent attacks and emphasized that Nigeria stands firmly for peace.

“The world needs tranquillity, peace, and love,” Tinubu said, adding that Nigeria will continue to support stability in the region.

The president also highlighted Nigeria’s broader foreign policy direction, noting that the country will keep working with international partners to promote peace both within Africa and globally.

During the ceremony, Tinubu received envoys from several countries, including Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Sudan, Namibia, Rwanda, Somalia, Argentina, and Congo, urging them to deepen diplomatic and economic ties with Nigeria.

He described the moment as a key opportunity to strengthen partnerships, attract investment, and position Nigeria as a competitive global hub.

On regional matters, Tinubu reaffirmed Nigeria’s commitment to the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), stressing the importance of defending constitutional order, promoting economic integration, and stabilising the Sahel.

He also pointed to broader global challenges including climate change, terrorism, and economic inequality  saying they require collective action among nations.

Tinubu assured the diplomats of full cooperation from Nigeria’s government and encouraged them to explore the country beyond Abuja, highlighting its cultural diversity and economic potential
