GOMBE, NIGERIA — The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has completed the training of 80 private security guards in Gombe State, as part of efforts to enhance safety, professionalism, and intelligence gathering within the private security sector.

The training programme concluded on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at approximately 2:00 p.m., at the NSCDC training facility in Gombe, where participants underwent intensive sessions covering key aspects of security operations.

Officials of the NSCDC stated that the exercise was designed to equip private guards with essential skills in surveillance, conflict management, emergency response, and ethical conduct. According to the command, the training aligns with its mandate to regulate and monitor private guard companies, ensuring that personnel meet required standards of competence and professionalism.

Participants were exposed to practical and theoretical modules, including intelligence gathering techniques, access control, crowd management, and basic first aid. Trainers emphasized the importance of discipline, vigilance, and adherence to legal frameworks guiding private security operations.

The NSCDC highlighted that private security guards play a critical role in safeguarding lives and property, particularly in residential areas, businesses, and public facilities. Strengthening their capacity, officials said, contributes to overall community security.
