Supporters of Peter Obi and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso are set to converge in Abuja for a unity summit, a move that underscores growing efforts to consolidate political forces ahead of the 2027 elections.
The event, organised by the OK Movement, carries the theme “One Voice, One Vision: In Unity We Win” and is expected to draw key figures from both camps.
A flyer circulating online shows that several prominent voices will speak at the gathering, including Buba Galadima, Aisha Yesufu and Isaac Fayose.
Others billed to address participants include Moses Paul, a former ADC chairmanship candidate, and Adebayo Adefolaseye, the movement’s South-West coordinator.
While framed as a unity meeting, the summit is unfolding against a backdrop of intense political speculation.
Both Obi and Kwankwaso are widely believed to be weighing a possible exit from the African Democratic Congress, with the National Democratic Congress emerging as a likely destination.
If that shift happens, it could significantly alter the balance within Nigeria’s opposition landscape, especially as parties begin early positioning for the next general election.
For now, the Abuja summit appears to be part of a broader effort to test alliances, build consensus, and present a united front at least among supporters before any formal political moves are announced.
