Charlie Puth turned his headline show at Madison Square Garden into a star-studded spectacle on Friday night, delivering an unforgettable performance that featured surprise appearances from Art Garfunkel, Jimmy Fallon, Busta Rhymes, and Kirk Franklin.

The concert, part of his Whatever’s Clever! World Tour in support of his 2026 album of the same name, featured a 23-song set that thrilled fans from start to finish.

One of the night’s most emotional highlights came when Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Art Garfunkel joined Puth on stage for a duet of Simon & Garfunkel’s classic hit “The Boxer.” Garfunkel praised Puth’s musical style, telling the audience, “He learned how to make his records from Paul and me. You’re my student,” a moment that deeply moved the crowd.

Puth, visibly honored, credited Simon & Garfunkel as a major influence on his career, saying their music played a key role in shaping his journey as an artist.

The surprises continued when television host Jimmy Fallon appeared on stage in sunglasses for a lively performance of Toto’s “Africa,” sending the crowd into excitement. After the performance, Fallon gifted Puth a custom New York Rangers jersey bearing his name and the number 26.

Hip-hop legend Busta Rhymes later took over the stage with explosive performances of “Break Ya Neck,” “Put Your Hands Where My Eyes Could See,” and his verse on Chris Brown’s “Look at Me Now,” energizing the packed arena.

To close out the guest appearances, gospel icon Kirk Franklin delivered a powerful set including “I Smile,” “Lean On Me,” and a spirited rendition of “Stomp,” bringing a soulful finale to the night’s surprises.

The Madison Square Garden show marks one of the most talked-about stops on Puth’s ongoing tour, which began just over a month ago and continues with upcoming performances in Atlantic City before heading into a European leg later this summer.
