UMUAHIA, Abia State — The Abia State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has commended President Bola Tinubu for what it described as bold and transformative reforms aimed at repositioning Nigeria’s economy and strengthening the foundations for long-term national development.
In a statement issued by party leaders, the APC said the policies introduced by the Tinubu administration demonstrate a commitment to addressing longstanding economic challenges and creating a more sustainable path for growth. The party acknowledged that some of the reforms have brought short-term difficulties but argued that they are necessary to secure long-term stability and prosperity.
According to the party, major policy decisions taken by the Federal Government are designed to improve economic efficiency, attract investment, boost productivity, and strengthen public finances. The APC maintained that meaningful reforms often require difficult choices and urged Nigerians to remain patient as the government continues implementing its agenda.
The Abia APC noted that economic transformation cannot be achieved overnight, stressing that the benefits of structural reforms typically emerge over time. Party officials expressed confidence that ongoing measures would eventually lead to increased employment opportunities, improved infrastructure, and stronger economic growth across the country.
The party also highlighted the need for national unity and collective responsibility in supporting government efforts to address economic and social challenges. It urged citizens, businesses, and other stakeholders to contribute positively to nation-building by embracing policies aimed at strengthening the economy and improving governance.
According to the statement, President Tinubu’s administration has shown determination in tackling issues that previous governments struggled to address, particularly in areas relating to fiscal management, investment promotion, and economic restructuring. The party argued that such efforts deserve public support rather than premature criticism.
The APC further stated that reforms currently being pursued by the Federal Government are intended to lay the foundation for a more resilient economy capable of withstanding future shocks. It emphasized that sustainable development requires policy consistency and public cooperation.
Party leaders called on Nigerians to judge the administration based on long-term outcomes rather than immediate challenges, noting that economic reforms often involve periods of adjustment before tangible benefits become evident. They maintained that patience and support from citizens would be crucial to achieving the desired objectives.
The Abia APC also used the opportunity to reaffirm its support for the administration’s development agenda, expressing optimism that ongoing initiatives would ultimately improve living standards and create greater opportunities for Nigerians across various sectors of the economy.
While acknowledging concerns over the current cost of living and economic pressures facing many households, the party insisted that the reforms are aimed at building a stronger and more competitive economy for future generations. It therefore urged Nigerians to remain supportive of government policies and contribute to efforts aimed at achieving national progress and stability.
