The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has handed Nigeria’s Super Eagles a significant boost in their quest for African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualification.

Libya’s recent setback is paving the way for Nigeria to seal their spot in the prestigious tournament, slated for Morocco in 2025.

With CAF’s decision to award all three points and three goals to the Super Eagles against Libya, the Nigerian national team now require just a win or a draw against Benin Republic on November 14th to secure their AFCON ticket.

With a talented squad boasting players like Victor Osimhen, Ademola Lookman, Stanley Nwabali, Samuel Chukwueze, and Wilfred Ndidi, and others, Nigeria is poised to make a deep run in the 2025 tournament.

*Benin Republic

The Super Eagles’ upcoming clash against Benin Republic is panning out to be more than just a formality.

The Squirrels, as they are nicknamed, have proven to be a formidable opponent in the qualifying rounds.

However, Nigeria’s momentum and home advantage are expected to give them the edge they need to overcome their West African rivals.

*AFCON Ambitions

Qualification for AFCON 2025 would mark Nigeria’s 20th appearance in the tournament, underscoring their status as one of Africa’s football powerhouses.

With their sights set on lifting the coveted trophy, the Super Eagles are determined to make a statement in Morocco.

*Fans’ Frenzy

Nigerian football enthusiasts are ecstatic about the team’s prospects, taking to social media to express their optimism.

“We’re almost there! #AFCON2025, here we come!” tweeted @Naija_Football. Another fan, @PulseSportsNigeria, exclaimed, “Libya’s loss is our gain! Let’s get the job done against Benin!”
