The Commissioner for Sports Development, Nwaobilor Ananaba, has reaffirmed that the present administration under Governor Alex Otti is deliberately shifting from a routine and short-term approach to a more structured and sustainable sports development model. According to him, the focus is now on long-term planning that prioritizes grassroots participation, institutional reform, and modern infrastructure capable of producing competitive athletes at national and international levels.
Speaking on the government’s ongoing reforms in the sector, Ananaba explained that sports development in Abia State is being repositioned beyond entertainment or occasional competitions.
