KADUNA, Nigeria — The Kaduna State Police Command has arraigned 24 suspects for allegedly killing a woman over child theft allegations in the Maraban Jos area of the state, police authorities have confirmed.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, Mansir Hassan, the command’s Public Relations Officer, said the suspects were arraigned before a magistrate court sitting at NDA Junction, Kaduna. The suspects were charged with criminal conspiracy, culpable homicide, and unlawful assembly, following an incident that sparked outrage in the community.
According to police sources, the victim was accused of child theft by members of the community, leading to a mob attack that resulted in her death.
