The Government of Ireland has announced a fully funded Master’s scholarship programme for professionals from Nigeria and Ghana.
The fellowship is targeted at early and mid-career professionals from Nigeria and Ghana seeking admission into one-year Master’s programmes at leading Irish universities.
The announcement was made by the Embassy of Ireland in Nigeria, which manages the fellowship programme for applicants from both countries
“Applications for the Ireland Fellows Programme opens on 29 June 2026! Apply for the opportunity to study in Ireland on a fully funded master’s scholarship,” the embassy stated.
The embassy also noted that prospective applicants from both Nigeria and Ghana can obtain details about the fellowship and application procedures through the official Ireland Fellows Programme portal.
According to the eligibility requirements, applicants must be citizens and residents of either Nigeria or Ghana. They must also possess a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of Second Class Lower division and have no fewer than three years of relevant professional experience.
For Nigerian candidates, the programme includes the Roger Casement Fellowship in Human Rights, which supports Master’s studies in Law, Human Rights and Governance.
Successful applicants will benefit from a comprehensive scholarship package covering tuition fees, monthly living allowance, accommodation support, return flight tickets, visa expenses and health insurance.
Applications will be accepted from June 29 and will close on July 26, 2026. Interested candidates are expected to complete and submit their applications through the official Ireland Fellows Programme website
