PORT HARCOURT, Nigeria — The Aku Welfare Association Federated (AWAF), Port Harcourt, has endorsed the governorship aspiration of Chief Obodoeze Ocho, describing him as a visionary leader capable of transforming Enugu State and unlocking its vast human and economic potential.
The endorsement came during the association’s monthly meeting in Port Harcourt, where Chief Ocho formally informed members of his intention to contest for the governorship of Enugu State and shared his vision for the state’s development. His presence provided an opportunity for members to interact with him directly and gain deeper insight into his aspirations for the people of Enugu.
In a statement issued after the meeting, AWAF Port Harcourt described Chief Ocho as one of Aku’s most distinguished sons, whose accomplishments, character, and commitment to public service inspire confidence across communities. The association noted that his aspiration is not merely a political pursuit but a noble mission rooted in a genuine desire to uplift lives, create opportunities, and position Enugu State for greater prosperity.
“Enugu State possesses enormous human and economic potential, yet unlocking these opportunities requires courageous leadership, innovative thinking, and a deep understanding of the needs of the people. Chief Obodoeze Ocho embodies these qualities,” the statement read.
The association highlighted Ocho’s achievements in business, community development, and philanthropy, stating that he has consistently demonstrated the capacity to build, inspire, and empower. His vision for Enugu is anchored on economic growth, youth empowerment, infrastructural advancement, quality education, and inclusive governance.
