Russia has warned foreign nationals and diplomats to leave Kyiv as it pledged to continue what it described as targeted retaliatory strikes on the Ukrainian capital and other cities.
In a statement on Saturday, the Russian Foreign Ministry said its military was carrying out strikes on what it described as military facilities in Kyiv and other Ukrainian cities.
The ministry also warned foreign nationals, including diplomatic staff, against staying in or travelling to Ukraine.
It said those who ignored the warning would bear responsibility for any consequences.
Russia has recently intensified strikes on infrastructure in Kyiv, including an air attack on a bridge across the Dnipro River on Saturday.
The escalation has disrupted life in the Ukrainian capital, which has about three million residents, as the country prepares for winter.
Russian President Vladimir Putin said earlier this week that Ukraine was facing consequences for attacks on targets inside Russia.
Both Russia and Ukraine have also increased attacks against targets linked to each other in recent months, including grain vessels in the Black Sea, oil refineries and other infrastructure.
The two sides continue to deny deliberately targeting civilians or civilian infrastructure.
