Mr. Eazi, a popular Nigerian singer, loses beloved mother

Nigerian singer and entrepreneur, Oluwatosin Oluwole Ajibade, popularly known as Mr. Eazi, has announced the passing of his beloved mother, the Late Mrs. Ifeoma Edith Ajibade.

Mr. Eazi disclosed this in an emotional tribute shared on social media via his Instagram handle on March 6, 2025.

During a check by Diaspora Digital Media (DDM), however, the singer is yet to disclose when she died and what killed her.

He, meanwhile, posted a heartfelt photo of himself with his mother.

The singer expressing deep gratitude for the profound influence she had on his life.

He described her as his greatest protector, his toughest critic, and his most loyal supporter.

In his tribute, Mr. Eazi wrote:

“Thank you, Mummy, for your strength, your sacrifices, and your unwavering faith.
“For raising us with love, discipline, and devotion to God.
“For teaching me confidence, entrepreneurship, forgiveness, and the value of family.
“You were my greatest protector, my toughest critic, and my truest fan.
“You were not perfect, but you were perfect to me. Your legacy lives on.
“Rest well, Ifeoma Edith Ajibade.”

The post quickly garnered an outpouring of support, with fans, followers, and celebrities alike offering their condolences.

Fellow artist Skales commented: “May her soul rest in perfect peace! Prayers up for you, king.”

Renowned producer, Don Jazzy, also expressed his sympathy, writing: “So sorry, bro. My condolences.”

Actress Olayode Juliana added: “May God rest her soul and comfort you and the entire family.”

In addition to his tribute, Mr. Eazi shared several pictures of his late mother on his Instagram stories, honoring her lasting impact on his life.

His wife, Temi Otedola, also expressed her support by sharing his post on her own Instagram story.

About Mr. Eazi

According to information gleaned from his Wikipedia page, Oluwatosin Oluwole Ajibade was born on July 19, 1991.

Better known by his stage name, Mr Eazi, he is a Nigerian singer, songwriter and record executive.

He is the pioneer of Banku Music, a fusion of sound he describes as a mixture of Ghanaian highlife and Nigerian chord progressions and patterns.

Mr Eazi relocated to Kumasi in 2008 and enrolled at KNUST, where he began booking artists to perform at college parties.

He showed interest in music after recording a guest verse on “My Life”.

The song gained traction and soon became a popular record at KNUST, creating sensation.

Mr Eazi released his debut mixtape “About to Blow” in 2013.

He gained an international audience following the release of the Efya-assisted single “Skin Tight”.

His second mixtape, titled “Life Is Eazi, Vol. 1 – Accra to Lagos”, was released in 2017.
