2baba Idibia hitherto known as 2Face Idibia took to social media to share the news, stating that he will be granting a press release soon to tell his side of the story.

However, he emphasized that he’s not obligated to share his personal life with the public, but rather wants to set the record straight for the sake of his fans.

Meanwhile, Diaspora Digital Media learnt that the wife, Annie, had informed close friends, weeks ago, that she was no longer living with the legendary musc icon.

Their journey through love

Annie Idibia has been with 2Baba since his “Plantation Boys” days in Festac.

The couple’s relationship has been a long-standing one, with Annie being a constant presence in 2Baba’s life despite his relationships with other women.

The couple got married in 2012, in a private ceremony in Lagos.

At the time, 2Baba had already fathered children with other women, including Pero Adeniyi.

Despite this, Annie and 2Baba’s marriage seemed strong, with the couple often sharing affectionate messages and photos on social media.

However, in 2021, Annie publicly called out 2Baba and his family, accusing them of trying to sabotage her marriage.

The drama played out on social media, with many fans weighing in on the situation.

Despite efforts to reconcile, it seems that the couple’s differences have proven insurmountable.

2Baba

Born Innocent Ujah Idibia, 2Baba’s music journey began in the late 1990s as a member of the defunct music group Plantashun Boiz, alongside Blackface and Faze. After the group disbanded in 2004, 2Baba launched his solo career, releasing his debut album “Face 2 Face” to critical acclaim.

The album “Face 2 Face” was a game-changer, showcasing 2Baba’s unique blend of hip-hop, R&B, and traditional African sounds.

The album’s hit single “African Queen” catapulted him to international fame, earning him numerous awards, including the MTV Africa Music Awards and the BET Award for Best International Act.

Throughout his career, 2Baba has released several successful albums, including “Grass 2 Grace” (2006), “The Unstoppable” (2008), and “The Ascension” (2014).

He has collaborated with top artists, both locally and internationally, and has won numerous awards for his contributions to the music industry.

2Baba’s impact on the music industry extends beyond his own music. He has been credited with laying the blueprint for the conventions that have become the format for popular Nigerian music.

His influence can be seen in the work of many younger artists who have followed in his footsteps.

In addition to his music, 2Baba is also known for his philanthropic efforts, particularly through his 2Baba Foundation, which focuses on peace building and community development.
