Egypt expands global opportunities for skilled workforce

Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration, and Egyptian Expatriates, Badr Abdelatty, reaffirmed the government’s commitment to improving education and training systems.

According to Diaspora digital media (DDM) reports, he emphasized expanding employment opportunities for skilled Egyptian workers abroad to enhance their global competitiveness.

During a meeting on Monday, Abdelatty discussed strategies with key ministers from the education, higher education, and labor ministries.

The meeting included Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Mohamed Ayman Ashour and Minister of Education and Technical Education Mohamed Abdel Latif.

Also present was Minister of Labor Mohamed Gobran, who contributed to discussions on workforce development and international job placement.

The talks focused on aligning Egypt’s education system with international labor market demands to enhance job prospects for Egyptian graduates.

Abdelatty highlighted the vital role of Egyptian diplomatic missions in identifying employment opportunities abroad for skilled workers.

He noted that diplomatic efforts support national education initiatives by connecting institutions with global labor market trends.

The ministry collaborates with international organizations to monitor industry needs and provide insights for curriculum development.

Egypt’s migration and employment centers play a crucial role in training workers to meet global standards.

These centers also promote legal migration while offering viable alternatives to discourage illegal migration among young Egyptians.

Ashour emphasized the significance of establishing a national scientist platform covering multiple disciplines to enhance research and innovation.

He highlighted the government’s efforts to expand Egyptian universities internationally, starting with branches of Cairo and Alexandria Universities.

This initiative aims to strengthen Egypt’s presence in global education and provide internationally recognized degrees.

Abdel Latif presented Egypt’s applied technology school model, which has been showcased in Germany, Japan, and Italy.

The model connects students with leading international companies, ensuring they gain practical experience before entering the workforce.

Gobran stressed the need for a standardized training framework that aligns with global labor market requirements.

He noted that while Egypt maintains a comprehensive employment database, language barriers limit access to European job markets.

The ministers agreed on continuous collaboration to bridge skill gaps and improve technical education.

They emphasized equipping Egyptian workers with specialized training and language skills to boost their competitiveness.

The government remains committed to forming global partnerships to enhance education and facilitate employment.

By implementing these initiatives, Egypt aims to strengthen its workforce and reduce unemployment.

The country also seeks to position itself as a key player in international labor markets.
