TDAAKS cautions Transport Commissioner against working with “fraudulent impersonators”

The Township Drivers Association Akwa Ibom State (TDAAKS) has urged members of the public, particularly the Honourable Commissioner for Transport, Dr. Anthony Luke, and the Ministry of Transport, regarding the activities of impostors falsely claiming to be members or executives of the association.

In a press release dated March 18, 2025, made available to Diaspora Digital Media  the leadership of TDAAKS, a duly registered association, emphasized that “these fraudulent individuals are neither members nor representatives of the association.”

“The association has no affiliation with these persons and has not authorized them to act or speak on its behalf,” the statement signed by Comrade Abel Jeremiah, added.

It further read:”We categorically state that these individuals are not members or representatives of TDAAKS and have no authority to act or speak on behalf of the association.

“Any attempt by them to engage with government agencies or stakeholders under the guise of TDAAKS is an act of fraud and impersonation.”

The association, which operates from its official office at 27, Akpan Etuk Street, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, stated that any attempt by these individuals to engage with government agencies or stakeholders under the guise of TDAAKS constitutes fraud and impersonation.

It urged the Honourable Commissioner for Transport and the Ministry of Transport to refrain from conducting any business with these impostors.

It reiterated that the association operates transparently and will only engage with relevant authorities through its legitimate leadership structure when necessary.

The association has reported the matter to the Nigeria Police and other security agencies for proper investigation and necessary action.

“We strongly warn those involved in this illegal act to desist immediately or be ready to face the full weight of the law for impersonation and misrepresentation,” it added.

TDAAKS reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the Honourable Commissioner for Transport in efforts to improve the transport sector in Akwa Ibom State, pledging to continue engaging constructively and responsibly for the progress of its members and the transport industry at large.

The public is advised to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities or individuals falsely claiming to represent TDAAKS to the appropriate authorities.
