Jonathan reveals calls urging him to speak on Rivers crisis

Former Nigerian President, Goodluck Jonathan, has spoken about the political crisis in Rivers State and the pressure on him to intervene.

According to Diaspora digital media (DDM) reports, Jonathan served as Nigeria’s president from 2010 to 2015 after previously holding office as the vice president from 2007 to 2010.

He became Nigeria’s first president from the South-South region, gaining international recognition for his leadership and democratic principles.

Jonathan is widely respected for conceding defeat in Nigeria’s 2015 presidential election, making history in the country’s democratic development.

The crisis in Rivers State stems from the conflict between Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his predecessor, Nyesom Wike, over political control.

Jonathan revealed in a video that people called on him, urging him to address the situation publicly.

“When the issue of suspending the governor came up, people called on me, saying, ‘President Jonathan, please say something,’” he said.
