Police arrest three Criminal Suspects, recover #10.3M, Arms

In a bid to secure a peaceful Easter celebration , the Imo Police Command has arrested three criminals suspected to be members of Eastern Security Network.

The operatives while on their Pre -Easter crackdown raided the camp of the suspected IPOB members and recovered #10.3 million alleged to be used in financing terrorism.

On the 17th April 2025, the operatives through credible intelligence from a local Vigilante groups stormed the hideouts of the suspects on Cameron street,Ubahi in Okigwe LGA, Imo state.

The Police men and the criminal suspects engaged on serious gun battles before the criminals were overpowered and three of their men were arrested.

The names of the suspects were Onyekaba Ikenna, male, 21, Ugwu Ikenna, male, 31, Ofor Kasarachi, 37, while two others escaped.

Henry Okoye, the Command’s spokesman stated this in a press release of 18th April, 2025.

He states: “The Imo State Police Command, under the leadership of Commissioner of Police, CP Aboki Danjuma, has continued to sustain its operational momentum against criminal elements threatening public safety in the state.

“On April 17, 2025, at about 0120hrs, operatives of the Command’s Tactical Teams, in synergy with local vigilante groups, acted on credible intelligence and stormed a suspected IPOB/ESN hideout on Cameron Street, Ubahu, in Okigwe LGA.

“On sighting the operatives, the suspects opened fire, resulting in a gun battle during which three suspects were arrested, namely: Onyekaba Ikenna Innocent (21), Ugwu Ikenna (31), and Ofor Kasarachi (37), while two others escaped into the surrounding bushes.

“Recovered from the scene were one AK-47 riffle, two pump-action guns, eighteen live cartridges, mobile devices, laptops, and ₦10.3 million in cash.

” Investigations reveals the money was contributed by IPOB members to finance terrorism.

“With Easter approaching, the Command assures Imolites of robust security across the state.

” In collaboration with sister agencies, patrols, surveillance, and checkpoints have been intensified to ensure a safe and peaceful celebration.

“Residents are urged to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the nearest police station or via 0803 477 3600”, the statement concluded.

Okoye has earlier stated the Command’s readiness combat crime and criminality through the CP’s collaboration with other sister agencies in the state.

He warned criminals to stay away from Imo state or be ready to face the anger of the police.

This achievement underscores the Command’s preparedness to fight crime as CP Aboki Danjuma assures of a peaceful Easter celebration.
