PDP S/South governors tackle herdsmen, pipeline vandals

PDP South South governors

South South Governors of the Peoples Democratic Party held a meeting at Asaba, Delta State.

The issue of rampaging Fulani herdsmen, Pipe Line vandalisation and attack on Chevron Nigeria Limited facilities dominated discuss of the meeting.

The Forum also used the occasion to review the performance of the party and strategize on the repositioning of the party towards regaining power come 2019.

The host Governor Ifeanyi Okowa briefed Journalists at the end of the meeting.

He said the South South PDP Governor’s Forum met to explore areas of economic cooperation.

Also, to build partnership in strengthening democratic ideals of the party.

He added that the South South zone was entirely PDP.

Therefore, all hands are on deck to sustain the status quo by ensuring that the party upholds transparent internal democracy to forestall disagreement among Party faithful.

He disclosed that the governors also brainstormed on how to make the forthcoming national convention in Port Harcourt a huge success.

Just as he urged party members and supporters to remain united in order to have a hitch – free exercise.

Okowa also disclosed that the South-South PDP Governors condemned in strong terms, last weekend attack on Chevron Oil facilities at Abiteye, Delta State, by unknown persons suspected to be militants.

They described the attack as unfortunate saying that plans were on to stem the tide of pipeline vandalism in the Niger Delta.
