At least 10 people were killed and 250 others injured in overnight Iranian strikes on central and northern Israel, while 18 are still missing, local media reported on Sunday.
A second night of ballistic missile attacks saw rockets impact in northern and central regions, including in a suburb of Tel Aviv.
A girl and a boy aged eight and 10, and two elderly women were also killed in the attack.
Elsewhere, in the northern town of Tamra, at least four Palestinian citizens of Israel were killed, including a woman and her two daughters.
There were two waves of attacks overnight, each of about 50 missiles, less than the previous night.
Iranian strikes damaged 61 buildings in Bat Yam, rendering 6 of them uninhabitable, the Bat Yam mayor said, adding that rescue and relief efforts are underway.
Attacks on Israel will end once Israel halts its military campaign
Meanwhile, Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has said that the attacks on Israel will end once the Jewish nation halts its military campaign against the Islamic Republic.
“We are defending ourselves; our defense is entirely legitimate,” says Araghchi in a meeting with foreign diplomats, adding that “this defense is our response to aggression. If the aggression stops, naturally our responses will also stop.”
The foreign minister said the Israeli strikes on the offshore South Pars gas field Iran shares with Qatar were “a blatant aggression and a very dangerous act.”
“Dragging the conflict to the Persian Gulf is a strategic mistake, and its aim is to drag the war beyond Iranian territory,” he says.
The foreign minister accused Israel of seeking to sabotage ongoing Iran-US nuclear talks, which according to him could have opened the way for an agreement.
Tehran was set to present a proposal this Sunday during a now-canceled sixth round of talks.
“Israel’s attack would never have happened without the green light and support,” Araghchi said, adding Tehran does not believe American statements that Washington had taken no part in recent attacks.
“It is necessary for the United States to condemn Israeli strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities if they want to prove their goodwill.”
