China, Ukraine call for all citizens to flee Israel, Iran as ceasefire hope remains slim

China and Ukraine have both on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, urged their citizens to evacuate Israel and Iran due to escalating military conflict.

The warnings follow four days of Israeli strikes on Iran and retaliatory missile attacks from Tehran.

Both countries fear further violence and disruptions, including airspace closures, civilian casualties, and border shutdowns.

The Chinese embassy in Israel urged all nationals to leave the country through land crossings, especially via Jordan.

Israeli airspace remains closed, and a national emergency has been extended until June 30.

The embassy warned that the conflict is worsening, with increased damage to infrastructure and more civilian deaths.

In Tehran, China’s embassy issued a similar alert, asking nationals to exit through borders with Turkey, Armenia, or Turkmenistan.

They warned Iran’s borders may close soon, and air travel remains suspended due to continued military activity.

China is also asking Qatar, Oman, and Saudi Arabia to help broker a ceasefire with Israel.

Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry told citizens to leave both Israel and Iran “as soon as possible.”

The government cited worsening security and urged citizens to monitor updates from embassies and local authorities.

Ukrainians were told to follow air raid alerts, carry valid IDs, and stay indoors when needed.

Embassies in both countries are compiling evacuation lists and preparing emergency travel routes.

Information is being posted on embassy Facebook pages to guide citizens still in the region.

India confirmed that some of its citizens had already crossed into Armenia to escape the danger in Tehran.

The Indian Foreign Ministry advised self-sufficient citizens to evacuate immediately while it’s still possible.

Thousands of Indians remain in Israel and Iran, and New Delhi urged all to stay vigilant.

Over 600 foreign citizens have crossed into Azerbaijan from Iran since the conflict escalated, officials said Tuesday.

Evacuees are being transported from the border to Baku International Airport for flights back to their home countries.

Despite global calls for calm, Israel has vowed to continue attacking key military targets in Iran.

The Israeli military has struck Iran’s Defense Ministry headquarters and other strategic infrastructure.

Diaspora Digital Media reported that President Trump warned that any attack on the U.S. would trigger an overwhelming military response.

“The full strength of the U.S. military will come down on you,” Trump said via Truth Social.
